Sample Stone

This is an ongoing work of love and respect for the dearly departed in an effort to record their final resting place.

In keeping with this thought and mission, we physically visit each and every cemetery documenting the location of the cemetery and photographing each stone visible at the time of visitation. In the event a stone is found to be too weather worn to read, we will first photograph the original condition of the stone, then attempt an application of mud paste to raise any inscriptions on the stone, record the inscriptions after mud application and photograph the stone with mud applied. We complete the process by cleaning the stone, leaving it in at least the original condition upon our arrival, cleaner if possible.

Although it may seem that some of this information is currently available at no charge on the internet through the various GenWeb organizations, this is not all together the case. We have reviewed these files and in comparing that information to the actual stones we have uncovered numerous errors and omissions. No assumptions or presumptions are made as to relationship to another person. All relationship information recorded in these databases were taken from the inscriptions on the actual stones. Cemeteries not yet completed can be requested and will be transcribed and photographed as soon as possible.

NOT SURE WHICH CEMETERY TO LOOK FOR OR PURCHASE? E-Mail your request to mary@ohioburials.com, phone us at 419-281-2888 or fax us at 419-289-7517 with the name of the person and any other information you may have. We will be happy to review our current database for that name.

Transcribing will entail the entire state of Ohio, however, is beginning with the county of Ashland and will continue from there.
